: any of a family (Baculoviridae) of DNA viruses that consist of one or more enveloped nucleocapsids, that infect arthropods and especially insects, and that have been used as biological control agents for insect pests and experimentally in recombinant DNA technology as vectors for the expression of eukaryotic genes
